Watching this bird from Radipole's North Hide I became fascinated with how frequently it was catching fish.
So I filmed it for a quarter of an hour or so and then put this montage together showing some of its many catches in slow motion.
It was filmed as the sun was setting, so you see the light change during the video.
It's actually better in the darker sequences as my camera can't cope with the brightness of the egret's plumage in full sun!
Also notice how the egret catches less fish as it gets darker.
And here's a video I didn't get round to putting up from last week.
It's my best shots yet of the male marsh harrier. Still not brilliant but the best yet.
The sequence closes with the old female watching her new partner.
