During a Heights Hotel Butterfly Break we visited this Butterfly Conservation reserve near Easton on Portland.
As well as butterflies such as silver-studded and small blues we found this gorgeous male emperor dragonfly.
Here is one of the silver-studded blues we found.
Altogether we found 20 species of butterfly over the weekend, including this male common blue.
And this small heath.
Most were seen on Portland but we did find this grizzled skipper at Cerne Abbas.
Plenty of moths were seen as well, including this burnet companion at Martin Down.
On the Saturday we came across this badger out in the open in the middle of the afternoon.
