February 22nd's Dorset Walk will be to Holton Lee, on the north west shore of Poole Harbour.
After my meeting there this afternoon I had the chance to walk round the grounds of this private 'reserve'.
One of the hides had a number of well-stocked bird feeders, attended by an excellent selection of garden birds, including these coal tits.
Another coal tit appears at the start of this video, but soon leaves the peanuts for the bigger great tit to enjoy on its own.
The commonest species at the feeders was blue tit, as it is in most gardens.
The feeders here had up to 10 present at any one time, which means there are probably at least 50 blue tits visiting the feeders in total.
This video also starts with a coal tit briefly present.
Finches were also very much in evidence here, such as this very beautiful goldfinch.
But the star bird has to be this lesser redpoll, seen here on the right feeding with a goldfinch.
