A common sight in the harbour especially in the summer is the huge shoal of grey mullet feeding around the boats in the marina.
I think these are thick-lipped grey mullet, whereas the even larger ones in Radipole Lake are probably thin-lipped grey mullet.
Here is a video I took seven years ago from the wooden bridge at the top end of the lake.
Most of the fish seen in the harbour are mullet, but two years ago I heard that there was a dogfish swimming about on the surface.
When I got there this was what I saw.
A closer view showed it to be not a dogfish but a small shark - a starry smooth-hound.
